A FULL-TIME
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT / FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

fixed term contract
Trim Family Resource Centre is a locally based family support and
community development project, based in Trim, covering South (West)
Meath. It was established in **Apply on the website** in response to a
need to tackle disadvantage and poverty in the area using a community
development approach and to improve the functioning of the family
unit.
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To support and work in close
collaboration with Voluntary Management Committee and the Project
Manager to implement the Trim Family Resource Centre?s aims and
objectives as specified in the work plan.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD HAVE
* Third level qualification in Family Support /Community Development,
or a related discipline
* At least 2 years? experience of working with groups who
experience social exclusion
* Knowledge and experience of family support in a community based
setting
* Knowledge and understanding of the issues of poverty and social
exclusion and its impact on the local area
* Experience of working with community, voluntary and statutory
agencies
* Good group facilitation skills
* Proven experience in accessing funding
* Good communication and excellent listening skills
* Supportive, empathetic, respectful and informative approach
* Clear understanding of confidentiality and accountability
* Strong teamwork ethic and the ability to work on own initiative
* Good computer and report writing skills
* Own transport and full clean driver?s licence
* Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends
